Unpopular Opinion: I Don't Want Kim K's Body
Kim Kardashians body is the epitome of beauty for the 21st century woman. Double D's, a booty so big and round it looks like Jupiter, all matched with a waist so unattainably small in comparison. Now this is no hate to Kim K, you do you, it's just a shame the whole world is watching.
Here's the thing, no one can deny Kim Kardashian is one of the most beautiful women in the world, if she wears something, fast fashion has an affordable duplicate within 24 hours. Literally. But as women I think we need to ask ourselves whether the Kardashians are really allies of women?
Didn't Khloe just get into controversy over some flat-tummy-tea whatever? Or who remembers when Kim got in trouble over weight-loss lollipops. You'd expect the most influential women in the world to be on our side, conscious of what they're selling teenage girls, our daughters, sisters and friends. The answer is glorified laxatives, supposedly getting us the bodies they spent tens of thousands of pounds to achieve. A body they know is never naturally achievable. Not even if you do slave away 5 times a week heavy weight training and a high protein diet.
"after women, flowers are the most divine of creations." Christian Dior, 1954
Women really are the most beautiful creation in the world, their bodies, their smiles, femininity in general has inspired many of the worlds most beautiful artists and designers. The female body has been and should be celebrated for the magic it is, naturally, a little extra weight and a few stretch marks, perfectly expanding and curving, to bare life. Here is my issue with modern understanding of beauty. Beauty is not and should not be pain, beauty should be happy, effortless and primarily from within, not a painful process, costing thousands by stuffing our insides with plastic.
It's probably a daily I read a Tweet along the lines of "once I get lip fillers& a boob job & a nose job & veneers & my nails done & a tan & a personal trainer its over for you lot." Isn't that tiring? If that's what it takes to simply be beautiful then I'm tired of beauty. Give me something else. But I guess this is the new Kim K crafted standard of beauty.
Its our job now to redefine beauty and to do the inner work of loving our bodies first, naturally for the way it was designed to be. We need to learn to appreciate the way it works hard on a daily basis to keep us here and to understand with certainty that plastic surgery cannot fix your insecurity or how you view yourself.

Accept yourself first and always, then go from there.
