Jhene Aiko: Does Jhene Have You Triggered?
Jhene Aiko just dropped her latest freestyle Triggered and it's got even a strong independent women like myself all in my feelings. The singers angelic voice explores a moment in time of anger, impulse and passion, something a little different from the elegance we're used to seeing from the artist.
But it's a side of Aiko I love, it gives me Maniac meets Never Call Me. The interplay of masculinity and femininity Jhene embodies so well is at it's finest on this track.
I know all too well about tears shed relating to Aiko's pain. Its her flawless expression of what it means to be a woman, a spiritual, loving, emotional woman.
But the track unsurprisingly sparked rumours it was a diss track aimed at her Ex- Big Sean. Aiko took to twitter to tell the world it wasn't. If you're asking me, who cares if it is, the whole point of being an artist is exploring the space to articulate your truth right? And we all know the pain of heartbreak and for a artist - our need to express it.
