As it turns out the festive holiday season provides no break for feminists fighting against the alt-right and the constant attempts to undermine the whole feminist movement in general. During this time and in this world it seems feminists take one step forward, yet at the same time are pushed ten steps back. No one and I mean no one wants gingerbread men to be called gingerbread people. Also, no one wants Santa to be gender neutral. Please don't fall for these lies.

Said as kindly as possible - step up and realise these are all attempts to take your attention from the very real issues facing women today. 1) FGM 

2) rape and the sentencing of rapists 

3) victim shaming 

4) child marriages 

5) sex trafficking

6) education for girls

7) reproductive rights

8)gender pay gap 

9) women in industries such as Hollywood and Silicone valley

11) attitudes toward women in porn 

12) rights of sex workers 

13) catcalling and harassment 

14) spiked drinks 

15) women in the medical world... women's symptoms are more likely to be ignored by GP's, particularly treatment of women of colour.

This all is not to say that there are no issues facing men, both men and women face different battles in modern society but can I suggest that some of these battles we share. It is in everyone's interest to make this world a safer place for women.
